Solution Story-boarding (2)

The use context

The story boards present  scenario where the elderly and children collaborate  to maintain a roof top vegetable garden. The produces from the garden can be sold in the neighbourhood household.  The elderly helps the children to work by providing instructions on as how to go about the task. The activity brings them closer and also induces collaboration. The children who were reluctant in the beginning, gets happy and more interested in the activity when it yield results. This encourages children to participate more and thus improving the personal relationship between them and elderly.

Solution Story-boarding(1)

An explanation of how our design concept motivates elder adults and children to co-exist for mutual welfare.

The use context

This set of story boards present  scenario in which the Children can be trained by elderly to develop certain skills. To facilitate this, NGO comes in to picture as a mediator. The NGO plays a  role in identifying the skills possessed by the elderly and there by connecting them with children who are interested in the respective skills. This training would result in better interaction between the user groups hence bringing them closer emotionally.

Finding out qualities of these two target groups which can be shared for the benefit of each other.

We created a mind map of all the skills, services, knowledge and experience (SSKEs) which each of these stakeholders’ (Elderly people living in old-age homes and Children living in orphanages) possess which can be shared for the benefit of each other.

After brainstorming the main SSKEs which can be shared amongst these target groups we thought of a few scenarios which can motivate these groups to interact with each other.
